Dear friends, Sunhwa and I began work here as the Cork Port Missionaries at the beginning of September 2006. We are taking over the work of our close friends and mentors Walter and Mary Burrell. As Walter once told me there are 'Oceans of seamen' who need a Christian friend. We are thankful to God for leading us to this unique pastoral and mission-focused ministry. What a great privilege and joy to meet and encourage these men and women of the sea as they journey back and forth across the perilous oceans of our world.
Already we have met people from over 20 countries. They have been: atheists, agnostics, Hindus, Muslims, Greek and Russian Orthodox, Buddhists and Christians. We have been able to share the love of Jesus with them, and testify to his great work in our own lives. Some men were able to come to church with us recently, and we thank God for the new friendships we're making.
